Welcome To My Toy Truck Page
Hello! My name is Jim Duell and I am a collector of metal & diecast trucks. I collect fire equiptment and construction equiptment in the lines of Nylint, Tonka, First Gear, Franklin Mint, Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Corgie, Majorette, Motor Max, along with so many more. I have got a Nylint Adams Travel Loader that I got for Christmas back in 1955 when we lived in Hornell, NY. It is pretty rusty so, I am attempting to redo it all. The tires are still in real good shape but, its missing the conveyor belt along with the top of the cab and the crank handle. I will keep looking for the missing parts along with getting it looking like new again. I have over 100 different trucks and Semi Trucks & Trailers. I also collect all the Christmas promotions from the local gas stations that they offer each Christmas time. I get about 5 each year to add to the collection. Check out my photos on my Photo Page. |
I DO HAVE HOT WHEELS TOO!
I now have over 1000 matchbox series and hot wheels cars and trucks. I have been collecting them since 1965 when I use to buy them at the rate if 1 per week at 50 cents each. I now have been getting them at the rate of 25 each time we go shopping. But, it all depends on the price. Some places they are $1.29 each and some places they are $.99 each and then there are my kind of places that they are $.64 cents each. When I see then at this price I usually get 25 of them. I usually stick with the Fire Equiptment and Construction Equiptment first then I go to any type of trucks available. I then get the older style cars and then all the rest. I keep them now in totes until I get more space. I have 5 - 36 gallon totes filled along with 6 shoe boxes filled. All the ones in totes are not opened. I am getting ready to build a model railroad and that is what they are for. I will never resell them. I will keep them forever. |
ALL NEW STYLE TRUCKS
I have been collecting some of the new style of Power Company Trucks that I get through the mail. I now have 5 different ones from local agencies like, New York State Electric & Gas, Rochester Gas & Electric, Niagara Mohawk. The one from Nimo has a chipper that is pulled behind the Bucket Truck. Pretty neat. The newest one was a RG&E Dump Truck that I got in 2001. It is a white truck instead of the tan colored truck like the rest of the fleet. I have an order blank to get other different styles that the company has. Now! there is some different trucks sold on Ebay but, nothing from around this area. I still might get them anyway. |
CONSTRUCTION EQUIPTMENT
I have been getting a lot of construction equiptment in the past couple years. I usually get Nylint or Tonka but, I found a new and different type of truck. After being on Ebay just browsing I came across a company that has a lot of different types and styles of 1/34 scale trucks. The company is First Gear. I have gotten 5 diecast cement mixers from different companies around the USA. There are over 25 different cement mixers in this site. I do want all 25 of them but, being laid off for a while kind of put the buying power to a hault. I have 5 different mixers now along with a State of Pennsylivania Snow Plow /Dump Truck. which there are about a dozen different plows to get. At about each I will wait. These are very nice looking and just the right scale for my shelves. I have 4 different ones now but, on hold for the time being.
JIM'S DIECAST TRUCKS
SEVERAL NEW FIRE TRUCKS
Within the past year or so, I have lowered my standards on the grades of trucks that I buy. I have started collecting some plastic remote control units that with the remote the aerial ladder goes up and down and side to side. It really neat watching everything that our big 1981 Pierce Aerial Platform Ladder Truck can do. I also have a aerial that is put up and down by hand. None of these trucks are ever used. I keep them high on the wall to look at and not to play with. There are no kids at all here so only when my nieces and nephews come they all have to check them out looking for something new. They all look but done touch. There are in age from 1 to 20 and there are 6 boys & 8 girls. They all love looking at them all. |

2001 REMOTE AERIAL PLATFORM
This is an 2001 model Remote Control Aerial Platform Fire Truck that I got at Toys R Us in Rochester last winter. When ever I see a different truck like this I get it. I don't have too many of this style but, I keep looking. I do have Nylint Metal Ladder Trucks which I have 3 different styles and then 2 different styles of Tonkas.
